  • About the course
    Once you have completed your CCN1 assessments then you would need to do this course which is the elements. With this qualification you can choose with how many appliances you want to be qualified in. we offer a total of 6 domestic appliances.

    The appliances that we offer at TAF Training Centre are:
    – Domestic Gas Boilers up to 70 KW
    – Domestic Gas Water heaters up to 70 KW
    – Domestic Gas Cookers
    – Domestic Gas Fires
    – Domestic Gas Meters
    – Combustion Flue Analysis

    Duration: variable depending on selected number of appliances (Flexible)

    Cost: variable depending on selected number of appliances

    How is the course going to help you within the gas career?
    This course can help you progress within the gas industry and with this course you can understand the requirements under the Gas Safety Regulations.

    With this qualification you will be able to install and repair and give a gas certificate on gas pipework plus the appliances you are qualified in.

    If you take on all the appliances listed above then on when you register yourself and receive your gas safe card, you will the card as shown below.

     

  • About the course
    This assessment is for those who have completed their CCN1 assessment and would like to be qualified to work on domestic gas appliances such as Gas Boilers, Water Heaters, Cookers, Fires and Meters, then this is the right assessment for you. In this assessment you can choose on what type of appliances do you to be qualified in but we do recommend you do the appliances listed above as this are the most common domestic appliances you would find in a house.

    After completion of this assessment you will qualify you to carryout gas works on the appliances that you are qualified in.

    Assessment Structure
    The assessment is structured to assess you in both theory and practical and they are there to test your knowledge plus also check how you refer back to the regulations and manufacturer’s instructions.

    Assessment Material and Equipment
    TAF Training Centre recommends to buy some books which help you to understand and do a quick reference in order to understand the question and answer accordingly. If you have any other reference material that you may like to use you can bring it on the day of assessment but using it make sure the assessor has authorised its use.

    The equipment will be provided for you when you enter our Practical Assessment Workshop where you will need to use the tools and work on the gas appliances that we have set up for assessment purposes.

    Entry Requirements
    The entry requirements to enrol for ACS Specialised Appliances Assessment courses which are laid out by Blueflame Certification is:

    – You must complete or hold a current CCN1 qualification

    Cost
    The price of this assessment would vary upon the number of appliances you would like to be qualified in. The prices for the individual appliances are listed below:

    CENWAT   This assessment is for those who would like to carryout gas works on Domestic Central Heating boilers and Water heaters. (CPA 1 required)     

    £ 85 per appliance

      £135 for initial assessment per appliance 

     

    £95 for reassessment per appliance

    CKR 1  This assessment is for those who would like to carryout gas works on Domestic Gas Cookers
    HTR 1 This assessment is for those who would like to carryout gas works on Domestic Gas Fires (CPA 1 required)
    MET 1 This assessment is for those who would like to carryout gas works on Domestic Gas Meters
    CPA 1 This assessment is for those who would like to carryout gas works on Domestic Central Heating Boilers (CENWAT) and also the space heaters (HTR 1) you will be required to check its safe operation by the use of the Combustion Analyser.
