    This course is for those who hold the relevant plumbing NVQ qualifications and would like to do become a gas engineer but has no or basic knowledge about the gas regulations, then this is the right course for you to begin with and because you have a relevant NVQ qualification in Plumbing or Heating and Ventilation then you don’t have to do the work based Portfolio.

    How is the course going to help you within the gas career?
    This course can help you progress within the gas industry and with this course you can understand the requirements under the Gas Safety Regulations.

    NOTE: As this is a Training course you will have to do the Assessment (ACS) to be able to legally carry out gas works.

  • About the course
    If you are looking to make a career in gas engineering and you don’t have formal gas training then this is best suited course for you to begin with. The Gas industry is regulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and enforced by Gas Safe Register and it is a must to know and understand the requirements laid in the regulations as what is required from you once you become a registered gas engineer.

    This ACS CCN1 Training is a course which prepares you for the ACS Assessment but it’s not a prerequisite to ACS Assessment, but we highly recommend you to take this training course as you would get an insight knowledge about the gas industry.

    This course is also for those who have done the Pathway to Gas or APL a while back and they want to refresh their knowledge before they sit for their final examinations then this training course is the right one for you.

    Qualification Structure
    The structure of the ACS CCN1 Training covers the following topics of which covers all the aspects and requirements of what you need to know as a gas engineer under the Gas Regulations.

    – Flue and Chimneys Requirements
    – Ventilation Requirements
    – Gas Unsafe Situations
    – Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
    – Domestic Gas Cookers
    – Combustion Flue Analysis

    Training Material and Equipment
    TAF Training Centre recommends to buy some books as part of your course as these book are very well written and are easy to understand, these books can be bought from our training centre. Some training material is provided but is not enough so we highly recommend you get these books.

    The equipment will be provided for you when you enter our Practical Workshop where you will need to use the tools and work on the gas appliances that we have set up for training purposes.

    Entry Requirements
    The entry requirements to enrol for ACS CCN1 courses which are laid out by Blueflame Certification are:
    – You need to hold the relevant NVQ qualifications in Plumbing and/or Heating and Ventilation.
